Try a Free Online Class
Free introductory online discussion classes are opportunities to get a feel for how our professionally designed and led Great Books discussion courses operate, to meet our faculty and other prospective students and to become familiar with our online classroom. These 90-minute sessions consist of a technical orientation followed by reading and discussion of a sample text and a general question-and-answer session. A short text will be provided prior to the class, but all reading will be done in class — so there’s no homework.

How It Works
Simply register for the class you’d like to take and we’ll reply with a welcome email containing all the information you need to participate, including the short text that will be used in the class. Although you don’t need to read the text in advance, we do recommend that you print it out before the class begins and have it handy during the class. That way, you’ll be able to reserve your computer screen for viewing the online classroom.
Preparing for Class
Although accessing and using the online classroom is easy, it does require some preparation on your part in order for you to get the most from your experience, as well as not to interfere with the experience of your classmates. Please familiarize yourself with the “Technical and Other Requirements” before participating in your free class.
